Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Khan said that Form 14 and 15 were not found in 128 polling stations. “There were wrong serial numbers in 20 polling stations.

Millions of additional ballot papers were printed during the last three days before election on May 11, 2013, he alleged.

He said that bags were also not sealed. Khan said that he would announce his future course of action at what he called a ‘dharna’ convention on January 18.

“Why is PML-N scared of setting up a judicial commission if it is not involved in the rigging,” he questioned. “Nobody should have any fears of our proposal for setting up a commission to probe the last general elections.”

He said there was no use of introducing electoral reforms without accountability of the last election.

Khan warned that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would not be able to run the government if PTI took to the streets again.

To a question, he said that Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid should stop telling lies about the vote audit.

The PTI chief called for immediate resignation of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq over the findings of the election tribunal.

Speaking on this occasion, PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that his party had demonstrated enough flexibility on the issue.

Pakistan Loses Kabaddi World Cup to India After Disputed Defeat Sun, 21 Dec 2014 07:23:42 +0000 Defending champion India walked away with the men’s Kabaddi World Cup 2014 title after defeating Pakistan by 45-42 in what green-shorts claimed was a match rife with biased decisions by Indian referees/judges here on Saturday, news reported.

Pakistan Loses Kabaddi World Cup

Indian had set up the title clash with Pakistan after a defeating England in the semifinals of the fifth World Kabaddi Cup played at the Shaheed Bachan Singh Yadgari Stadium.

Protesting over the controversial refereeing, Pakistani Kabbaddi team skipper, Shafiq Chishti sounded out that his team would not take part in the next world cup of the sport.

“We condemn the impartiality of Indian sports authorities, who did not even let us drink water during the game, while our opponents on top of enjoying other luxuries, were even allowed to rub greasy balms all over their bodies to make it harder for us to grapple them ,” a disgruntled Chishti said.

He also claimed that the match-ending whistle was blown a little too earlier shaving at least 3-5 minutes off the actual duration.

“They (Indians) did it because we were winning the match. This is out and out outrageous,” said he.

Apart from the aforementioned violations of rules & regulations of the game, Indian spectators also distracted the Pakistani players time and again during the final bout, the national Kabaddi captain added.

When love turns to pain big boys never cry, but when a game does that too owing to foul play they certainly do evident from Pakistani team’s bursting into tears after India was declared winner.

Countrywide Protests by PFUJ Press Clubs Today Tue, 16 Dec 2014 09:07:28 +0000 The journalist community widely condemned the attack on the female anchor of Geo News Sana Mirza and other journalists by PTI workers in Lahore on Monday.

GEO Reporters Countrywide Protests

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and the Council of Pakistan Press Clubs have given a call for a protest against the misbehaviour and manhandling of journalists by workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during their protest in Lahore.

The journalists community will hold a protest rally in front of the National Press Club (NPC) today (Tuesday) and similar demonstrations would also be held in other cities, including Lahore and Karachi.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI supporters attacked the Geo News team in Lahore, including a seasoned anchorperson Sana Mirza, senior political analyst Sohail Waraich, senior reporter Ameen Hafeez, Asim Naseer, Jawad Malik, Ahmad Faraz and cameraman Raja Amir.

Sana Mirza, who was giving live updates on Geo News from Lahore, was repeatedly targeted with bottles and foul language by the PTI workers, and eventually she was unable to hold back her tears during the live transmission.

Ameen Hafiz, known for his charm and unique reporting style, is one of the most popular and loved journalists in Lahore, but the PTI crowds shot a glass-projectile that struck him on the forehead, forcing him on his knees.

Presidents of NPC and Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) have urged the journalists to participate in the protest in large numbers to show the PTI and other political parties that they would not make any compromise over the freedom of expression.

The protest rally in Islamabad would be led by PFUJ President Afzal Butt, NPC President Shahrayar Khan and RIUJ President Ali Raza Alvi.

JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq Thinks no London Plan Exists Thu, 04 Dec 2014 06:37:42 +0000 Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq said the change of the government should take place in the light of guidelines set by the Constitution of Pakistan.

Talking to current affairs program ‘Awaz’, the JI chief asserted no one can rob Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of its due right to protest. He also underscored the need for the government to immediately kick-start the negotiations with the PTI.

The government should be serious in the negotiations, he added. People want the negotiations to commence well before December 18, Haq pointed out arguing that the PTI is a political party, not a pressure group.

The two parties, including PML-N, he added, are required to go beyond the limit of their respective egos.

“I do not think that there is anything like London Plan. Even if it rains, the people attribute it to certain decision abroad,” Siraj maintained.

Commenting on the coalition with the PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) ameer said his party and the PTI did not bind each other, adding however, “We entered the coalition with the PTI on 14 points.

Ishaq Dar Ties Dialogue Success to PTI Non-Agitation Wed, 03 Dec 2014 06:49:35 +0000 Vowing to take them up from where they were abandoned, Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar Tuesday solemnly vouched for the the government sincerity in getting down to result-oriented talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), media reported.

“The government will reengage PTI in a dialogue after Dec 5 as we were in consultation with opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah over the appointment of new Chief Election Commissioner”, said he talking to Samaa TV’s anchor extraordinaire Nadeem Malik during his titular talk show here.

To a question about the tentative success of the talks, Dar said, “Instead of ego it’s the wisdom that should prevail. Thus Imran Khan is requested to choose supreme national interest over self.”

The minister was confident that three names shortlisted for Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) chief would be unanimously finalized by Wednesday (December 3).

“The names of the candidates will also be submitted to the Speaker National Assembly for further proceeding under the Constitution. And hopefully the ECP hands will get their head by December 5,” he said.

Dar, who has been tasked with the resumption of a stalled dialogue with the PTI, urged Imran Khan to withdraw his protest calls announced on November 30.

He said, “Trade bodies had already rejected PTI calls for a shutdown.”

Replying to another query, the finance minister said the government had settled almost all the matters with the PTI in the last round of talks but the protesting party’s ‘authoritative plan’ for a Judicial Commission halted the entire process.

Junaid Jamshed Calls for Change of System Backs Imran Khan Wed, 17 Sep 2014 06:20:34 +0000 Singer-turned Islamic preacher Junaid Jamshed today supported PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s call for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and change of system.

Junaid Jamshed

Junaid Jamshed

In an exclusive chat with media senior anchorperson Nadeem Malik, Jamshed said: “Time has come to eliminate the 66-year-old outdated system”

“Even if Imran Khan steps back from his movement, this system will have to end and nobody can stop it,” he said. “History shows when people stand up against a system, sacrifices are bound to be rendered. And in the end, system is defeated.”

“Imran bhai is talking about the change of system. And apparently, Nawaz Sharif is the beneficiary so naturally Khan has turned his gun towards Prime Minister.” “Our prayers are with Imran Khan. If he retracts, he will be shunned by the youth,” he predicted.

Jamshed said that Imran Khan’s demands are the voice of nation and there is a dire need to defeat the status quo.

To a question, he suggested that PTI and MQM, which is also a middle class party, should join hands and work together. He categorically supported Khan’s demand for change.

Asif Zardari likely to Broker Peace Between PTI – PML-N Thu, 24 Jul 2014 06:23:50 +0000 There is a fair chance that the winds of change might start blowing a little too early if the government fails to avoid ending up in a blind alley it is inching into farther and farther every passing day, media reported.

Nadeem Malik Live

Nadeem Malik Live

“Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government is on the verge of getting trapped into a dead-end street. If it doesn’t scramble out of it then it will soon be up against the wall. End of the term”, said Pakistan People’s Party leader? Qamar Zaman Kaira speaking at TV’s top-notch talk-show ‘Nadeem Malik Live’.

Suave senior anchor, Nadeem Malik, who’s known for his cool countenance and avant-garde analysis, Wednesday meticulously pitted PPP’s Qamar Zaman Kaira, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Assad Umar, and PML-N’s Rana Mashhood against each other and nailed how Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s conclaves with Saudi royalty and Asif Ali Zardari’s bumping into US Vice President Joe Biden were somehow connected –remotely if not closely.

Speculations have it that PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari is going to be the go-between who will help avert a major political collision down the line. Zardari, as a mediator between the PML-N led government and PTI, may not look the part but has emerged as the strongest candidate for brokering some kind of understanding between the parties, which are on a collision course. Maybe Uncle Sam after conferring with its longtime ally Saudi Arabia has hand-picked him for the job. Who knows?

These eleventh hour fence-mending undertakings have come to fore as in the grand scheme of Pakistani politics, the continuation of democratic process has suddenly taken the center-stage at a time when Pakistan Army is digging deeper and deeper into one of the world’s most hostile combat zones in the lawless tribal territories as part of a grand military offensive,? Operation Zarb-e-Azb –launched against the extremist Taliban terrorists holed up in North Waziristan.

During the program, both the opposition leaders locked horns with Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood over the alleged manipulations in May 11, 2013 general elections.

Like always, the cliched debate with its typical ebb and flow culminated in denials and accusation; however, there was s notable difference between the body language of the leaders as while Mashhood looked as serious as a grave throughout the talk-show, Umar and Kaira cracked jokes, struck low-fives,? and punctuated their joint potshots at PML-N leader with casual laughter revealing a cozy ‘comfort level’ between the two of them.

To a question about prime minister’s 10-day long visit to the holy land and his emergent meetings with Saudi crown princes, Mashhood swore that the visit was utterly private and the meetings were absolutely personal and had nothig to do with the political crisis bearing down on Pakistan.
